We work closely with Branston CofE Infant Academy to ensure that transition between the two schools is supportive and effective.
- Children’s Learning: We work closely with Branston Infant school throughout the academic year in a range of ways to ensure their is a level of consistency between our teaching approaches. This includes: subject leaders from both schools working alongside each other to reflect on teaching pedagogy and approaches; working on moderation between the two school to develop an understanding of pupil attainment and targets and meetings between infant and junior teaching staff to ensure all staff are well informed about the needs of pupils.
- Experiences: We hold a range of events throughout the year between the infants and juniors, these may include: Maths Carnival, Sports events, Booknic, Watching performances, Year 2 visit to BJA and Changeover day.
- Transition: We offer a gradual transitional process from BIA to BJA. Pupils will have several visits to Branston Junior Academy, prior to their September start and in the Autumn Term, staff from the Infants will visit our year 3 pupils to see how they have settled at their new school.
