Welcome to Saturn Class

Saturn is a mixed year 5/6 class and our teacher is Miss Kisby

Important information to remember:

Homework – SPaG homework is set on a Monday and Maths homework is set on a Wednesday.

Both sets of homework need to be completed and handed in on the following Monday.

Reading – children are expected to read at home, and record it in their planner, at least three times per week.

Reading Records are handed in on a Thursday.

PE is on Wednesday and Thursday and children need to come to school in their PE kits.

Steampunk Robots

This term in Art, we have been learning about the style of Steampunk. We looked at costumes and themes before designing our own Steampunk themed robots. Once we had designed them we had to create a 3d model of our design. Below are some of our robots.

Welcome to the Summer Term

Welcome to the Summer Term. This term we are studying Inventors. We began by completing a time line of important inventions.

Cave Art

To begin our Extinction topic, we have been looking at early cave art. the children learnt about the stories the images portrayed. Following that, they all had a go at creating their own art work.

Space Race Time Lines

To begin our look at our topic Extinction, the children looked at some examples of Cave Art, we discussed that when the original art was completed, they told stories of their lives. The children then had a go at representing a story in the style of cave art. see below the amazing work they have produced.

We have spent some time studying the key events of the Space Race. The children then created their own timelines choosing the most interesting facts to add to their work.

Mnemonics

As we began our new topic on Space, our first task was to learn the order of the planets and then create some mnemonics to help- us to remember them. Here are a couple of examples from our class.
