Safeguarding

Safeguarding and the welfare of children is everyone’s responsibility.

At Branston Junior Academy we take our responsibilities in this area very seriously and have robust systems and procedures in place to ensure that our children are safe, happy and well looked after.

  • Mr Thornton is the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL)
  • Miss Perkins is the Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DDSL)

If you have a concern or a member of staff has a concern it can be reported confidentially to one of the DSLs, listed above. All staff have a valid DBS certificate, recorded in our Single Central Record, which is kept in the office.  All Governors also all have valid DBS certificates.

Should a child disclose anything that causes you to have a concern about their welfare please report it immediately to any teacher or DSL. Do not engage the child in discussion on this issue yourself.

If you have an urgent safeguarding concern please contact Lincolnshire Children’s Safeguarding on: 01522 782111

Support for families and children through the NSPCC

If you are seeking support please do contact the DSL or DDSL in the first instance. However, there is also a range of information available on these NSPCC help guides to support both children and families.
