Local Events

We are often contacted by external providers etc, who send us information about local events and ask us to advertise them to our parents. If it is only 1 or 2 things, previously we have sent them out as attachments to our weekly Branston Bulletin, however we are acutely aware that this can mean that sometimes this document becomes very long!

We have come up with the solution of putting such information on this page of our website instead, and simply notifying you of this in the most relevant edition of our Branston Bulletin.

Lincolnshire Community Health Services NHS Trust (LCHS) Pilot for Parents, Carers and Professionals to access children's occupational therapy

Parents, carers and professionals will be able to access NHS Children’s Occupational Therapy and speak to a clinician who can offer advice and give support to children and young people with general fine motor problems such as handwriting and activities of daily living that affect their participation in terms of play, education and leisure.

Abi Storr, Professional Advisor for Children's Occupational Therapy at LCHS said: “We’re so pleased to be launching our advice line to parents, carers and professionals. It will be so beneficial to those who need to speak to a clinician and it's just a phone call away. It will provide parents, carers, and professionals with the opportunity to discuss any problems with a clinician who will offer support and guidance. This service means that we will be able to offer a more child centred approach and makes access to  occupational therapy advice more accessible.”

The advice line can be accessed by calling 01522 309025 (for parents/carers) and bookable telephone appointments  with 20 minutes slots will be offered on Tuesdays from 10am to 1pm and Thursdays from 1:30pm to 4:30pm.

All Lincolnshire health, social care and education professionals accessing the advice line on behalf of a child or young person must complete an online referral form which ensures they have obtained the relevant consent from the child’s parent/carer.

App to help people WaitLess for urgent and emergency care services in Lincolnshire

The NHS across Lincolnshire has introduced a smartphone app, which is designed to help people choose the least pressured urgent and emergency care services and to understand waiting times better.

The WaitLess app combines current waiting time, queue numbers and travel-time at urgent care facilities in the county.  This displayed information helps people make an informed decision about where to seek the fastest treatment for minor illness and injuries. Along with this, the app displays all available pharmacies in the area as an alternative treatment option.
